<image:caption>I cannot say that I "found" yoga at a particular age or stage of life, because it feels so much more like yoga found me. My passion for movement began at childhood. I led an active lifestyle through competitive gymnastics, recreational sports, and vigorous hiking expeditions. As a young adult, I developed an insatiable interest in all things philosophy, metaphysics, spirituality, the abstract, and the esoteric. It was at this time that I began a personal meditation practice. For years I traveled extensively on a quest to understand more of the world, more of myself, and more of the relationship between the two. At different times, periods, and junctures of my personal growth and spiritual development, "yoga" appeared. In buildings, in books, in travels, and in conversations, "yoga" appeared. One by one, the stars aligned as if to say, "Here it is." Yoga quickly revealed itself to me as the missing link between my body, my mind, and my soul. In my search to learn, I went to India. I studied in the city of Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga. Nestled along the Ganges river at the foothills of the Himalayas, the scenery only reflected the light that I came to know inside myself, the same infinite light that resides within each of us and every moment we inhabit. Through yoga, I've found that there is more to life and there is more to me. There's something brilliant, something ineffable, something intrinsically greater in the whole than in the individual pieces combined. As a teacher and a human being, I aim to help us all reconnect to it in some small way. Shiv Om, K</image:caption>

<image:caption>I discovered yoga in 2006 when I was suffering from depression. I was a stay-at-home mom and loved my family very much; yet I felt stuck and unfulfilled, as if my dreams and desires for life were passing me by. My mantra became "SSDD"… "Same Shit, Different Day". The Universe led me through a series of events in which I ended up in a yoga class, and that class placed me on the threshold of change and transformation. Today my new mantra is “Thank You”. My yoga and meditation practice helped me to rediscover ME! I reconnected to the silence and stillness that rests within, and I found comfort and acceptance in all aspects of life– the good, the bad, and everything between. Eileen has been teaching yoga since 2009 and is certified + experienced in the areas of Meditation (Davidji Masters of Wisdom, The Chopra Center and Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra) and a range of yoga modalities- Chair, Gentle, Vinyasa Flow, Therapeutics, Alzheimer’s Prevention, and more. <image:caption>Hello friends! I’m Chelsea, a recent graduate of Lotus Rising’s 200 YTT. My journey with yoga began in 2020 after a few years of feeling lost in my 20’s. I was anxious, in an unhealthy relationship, and looking for an outlet to find myself again. I became fascinated with my breath; initially for guiding myself out of hard days and panic attacks. Once I discovered pairing breath with movement in my first yoga class, I felt a calling to teach others about the infinite ways the body can heal itself. I learned that yoga is not just an hour of your time in a studio or at home but a way to walk through your life with peace. With yoga on my mind every day, my patience has become stronger, my body healthier and my life longer- one day at a time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>When I first started yoga, it was for many of the physical benefits that the practice brings - strength, flexibility, and balance. I was coming out of a long term illness and needed some gentle movement as I was recovering. It wasn’t long before I started to lean into the mind/body/spirit connection that yoga offers. Understanding that connection more thoroughly has helped to bring those same qualities of strength, flexibility, and balance, to many other areas of my life. A few years ago, I started an administrative position at LRY. Being there almost daily, taking classes, listening to the instructors teach, and hearing transformational stories from other students, grew my love for all the things this practice offers. Although you will still often find me behind the desk, I took the leap and decided to teach after receiving my 200hr certification. I enjoy seeing individuals maintaining their independence through movement, quieting their busy minds through breath and meditation, and finding community with others in a class setting. I truly believe that yoga is a lifelong practice, and I'm excited to meet students exactly where they are in their journey.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Instructors - Tina</image:title>
<image:caption>Hiiii! I’m Tina. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2019, but movement has been part of my life long before that. I come from an athletic background and I know what it’s like to push, perform, and power through. I also know what it feels like to burn out, disconnect from your body, and realize that “doing more” isn’t always the answer. Yoga found me during a season when my body needed listening, not fixing. What started as a physical practice quickly became a way to rebuild trust, strength, and presence, without losing my edge. That experience deeply shapes how I teach. My classes blend Vinyasa style, mobility, and restorative work. I bring an athlete’s understanding of strength and structure, paired with a deep respect for recovery, nervous system balance, and sustainable movement. I care about how movement feels in real bodies, especially bodies that are tired, overworked, or carrying a lot. I value discipline and devotion, but also softness, humor, and humanity. You won’t be pushed to perform or disappear into the background here. You’ll be invited to move honestly, build confidence, and meet yourself where you are. Some days my classes are strong and energizing, other days slower and grounding. Most days, they’re a mix of both. My goal is simple, that you leave feeling more connected to your body, more capable in yourself, and a little more at home in your life. Off the mat, I’m usually enjoying long walks or hiking with my husband and our dog, Guinness, traveling, reading, baking, or creating something just for the joy of it.</image:caption>

I studied, trained, in the city of Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga. Nestled along the Ganges river at the foothills of the Himalayas, the scenery only reflected the beauty that I came to know inside myself, the same infinite beauty that resides within each of us and every moment we inhabit.

<image:caption>In the time I've practiced yoga, I've rediscovered a deep love for myself and the world around me. My journey into yoga began with the desire to build a supportive community, enhance my physical awareness, and connect more deeply with my mind. To me, yoga transcends the postures and movements—it's a way of being present in every moment, a practice that permeates all aspects of life. My fascination with yoga led me to pursue a 200-hour YTT certification through Lotus Rising Yoga. What started as a personal quest for deeper understanding quickly evolved into a passion for teaching and sharing this beautiful practice with others. Earning my certification is one of my proudest achievements, and I hold this accomplishment close to my heart. As a registered nurse, I'm thrilled to combine my love for yoga with my dedication to holistic well-being. I believe yoga is not just good for the body, but also profoundly nourishing for the soul. I've found it to be one of the most transformative forms of "exercise," offering benefits far beyond the physical. As an instructor, my hope is to be a guiding light for fellow yogis, just as yoga has illuminated my own path. Shanti, Chloe</image:caption>

<image:caption>With a background in dance, gymnastics, and soccer, I’ve always had an affinity for the creative and expressive powers of movement; however, somewhere along the way, I became disconnected from this vital aspect. In 2014, upon a quest for depth, direction, and healing, I began cultivating an at-home yoga practice; and it changed my life profoundly. Not only did it rekindle my love of movement by reconnecting me to my body, but it awakened, deepened, and expanded, this understanding of how therapeutic, transformative, and transcendental this sacred practice truly is. Practicing yoga opened up dimensions of reality with such a richness of experience that I wished to share with others. In 2017 I completed my formal training at Kali Yuga Yoga through the Sri Dharma Mittra lineage led by Leah Lillios-King and Liz Mead. My practice intends to awaken and harmonize the subtleties of the mind, body, and spirit, creating a holistic and empowering experience that brings balance, clarity, and inspiration. I seek to encourage inner inquiry, challenge growth, and help people to find safety, trust, and comfort within their body. In my classes, I love to incorporate themes, guided meditations and visualizations, pranayama, philosophy, and sound healing tools. When I’m not teaching yoga, you can find me dancing with my hula-hoops, reading fantasy novels, making music, being in nature, and hanging with my cats and friends.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I took my first yoga class in a college gym in 2007. As I began exploring this new type of exercise, I started to understand that yoga is not simply a workout. Taking classes with numerous teachers in a variety of styles around the south has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the ancient lineage of yoga and how it translates into everyday life. I have been fascinated by the physiology and kinesiology of the body for almost 2 decades. I am a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in TN and FL. I completed my 200 hour Hatha Yoga teacher training with Balance and Breathe Yoga 2022, and I am also certified in paddleboard yoga. I teach because I want students to learn more about themselves, both physically and on a deeper level. The benefits in our lives as we gain this deeper understanding of ourselves allows us to live a more experiential existence. I want each and every person to feel a connection with their body in my yoga classes. It is easy to fall into a desire to move your body into "ideal" or "perfect" shapes, but it is not necessary to experience the benefit of movement and connection. I hope that students who attend my classes can gain an understanding of how shapes appear in their bodies, and how their bodies change from day to day. It is also my wish that I am able to impart some deeper yogic wisdom and can help students find deeper meaning in their yoga practice. Everyone leaving my class will hopefully feel accomplished, challenged, and cared for.</image:caption>

<image:caption>As I think about my journey with yoga, I see that I was given many opportunities to "begin again." Yoga has shown up for me in ways that I needed, when I needed it. In high school and college, I liked the similarities between vinyasa and dance, without the pressure to perform. When I was pregnant and lonely in my 20s, I found a way to relate to other moms, to my baby, and to myself in yoga. When I became a certified yoga instructor in 2019, it was because I wanted to serve others as I deepened my own understanding of the holistic nature of yoga-- and also because it brought me joy! I love being a student, and I am fascinated by all that our bodies have to teach us. It is important to me that yoga be accessible to anyone, and I encourage classes to be a space for self-exploration rather than conformity. I appreciate the physical and mental challenges that come from a full spectrum of movement, breathwork, meditation, and stillness, and I invite students to engage the practice with compassion and tenderness.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi guys! I am thinking of each of you with so much love. My heart is so full as I write this. My mom introduced me to yoga in high school when my anxiety and depression was at an all-time high. As I grew, I began to realize that it offered so much more than just physical health. Yoga became a gateway to personal growth- helping me cultivate strength, flexibility, and fearlessness, in all aspects of life. I continued to practice on and off throughout the years, at home and around town with my daughter, Gracie. In 2014, my husband Toy was involved in a catastrophic accident that changed the whole trajectory of our lives. It was at this time my love for yoga came back with a transformative power. I was learning so much about the body, the spinal cord, and the ways we can heal ourselves. Yoga became a vital part of my life as it helped me navigate the emotional and physical demands of his caregiving. In 2024 I became a graduate of Lotus Rising’s first 200 hour teacher training. Now, I get to hold space as a teacher for beautiful people weekly. I am so, so excited! My hope is that I can help you cultivate mindfulness and find freedom in your bodies, enabling them to better serve you each time you leave my class. I hope to help you find some peace and kindness to take into this world. We can all be a little more kind. Remember: You are whole. You are worthy. You are loved. You are beautiful. <image:caption>Since I took my first yoga class, I have tried many variations, but my inner-athlete is drawn to the strength-building challenge of power yoga. Throughout my childhood, I grew up playing all kinds of sports but honed in on swimming and cheerleading through high school, and later committed to a college where I'd be able to continue competitively swimming. In 2014 though, my NCAA Division III swimming career came to an abrupt halt. I was placed on academic probation and no longer allowed to compete. My training, practices, and community were shattered and I was left feeling isolated and lost, with no direction. Then, in 2015, a mentor-turned-friend opened her own yoga studio and invited me to a class. I took my first power vinyasa class and never looked back. In 2021, I earned my 200 RYT. I am so grateful that yoga came into my life when it did and that I have come to know and love this practice as an integral part of who I am and how I function in this world. There is so much more goodness to come from my own journey, and I only hope that my ability to teach others is an encouragement to their own physical and spiritual growth through the practice of yoga and intentional self-study.</image:caption>

She loves to create with essential oils and herbs; and she can't get enough of being in nature, especially around water. Traveling calls to her soul. She has hopes to see the world with her husband and experience all the diversity it holds. Her audible is filled with self-help and self-empowerment books, but she'll never get tired of Harry Potter. She has always had an affinity for helping people. This deep knowing has led her on a winding path of finding herself and the best ways to serve others. She worked for several years as a birth doula and midwife apprentice, witnessing countless women find power and strength they didn't know they held within. She has her Bachelors of Science in Alternative Medicine and is a certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. Over the years, she began her own healing journey through yoga and meditation. These practices reminded her of her own deep, internal power and wisdom. They reminded her that true healing occurs on the soul level, that we are all responsible for our own healing, and that we hold the capability to heal within ourselves. She is honored to hold space for and provide support to those on their own healing journey. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification and holds additional certifications in Yin Yoga and Sound Healing. She is currently working through Chakra Healing and Crystal Healing programs. She's a lifelong learner and never grows tired of exploring new modalities to bring into her practice and share with those around her, that those modalities might propel them on their individual path to healing.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hello friends! My name is Michelle Bulla, and I started practicing yoga when I was 16. It started as just a way to stretch from the intensity of high school sports but gradually turned into a lifestyle as I learned about yoga off the mat as well as on it. Yoga has been such a rewarding and healing journey that really began when I went to a 200hr yoga teacher training with Half Moon in Franklin in 2016. It's my desire to teach people to listen to their body and modify when needed without shame or judgement. Yoga looks different on each and every one of us, so let's embrace that together!</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have a passion for helping others discover the freedom that is found in movement. I began my yoga journey in 2015 when I took my first Buti Yoga class. In those first few months I became enamored not only with the energy of the class but with the way I carried that energy with me off the mat. I have always had a heart for people, which is why I chose to get my BS is Psychology from TSU. When I noticed the therapeutic effect Buti was having on my body and mind, I knew I wanted to share it with others. I received my Buti certification in 2017 and then went on to Advanced and Hot trainings in 2018. I continued to grow my practice and completed my 200hr YTT from Baptiste Power Yoga Nashville in 2019. I love leading students through the journey of self-discovery on their mats and am happy to call Lotus Rising Yoga home. When I’m not practicing yoga, I am pouring my time into my home in Spring Hill with my husband and 4 children. I look forward to seeing you in class!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Lisa Ann McCoy discovered yoga ten years ago after the death of her husband and oldest daughter in a car accident her family was involved in. She was left with a young daughter to raise alone, multiple injuries, PTSD, and high cortisol. She sought out yoga as a means of healing from the trauma. To her astonishment, she gained this… and so much more! Yoga became her body’s way of releasing trapped emotions, letting go of self-destructive beliefs, redefining her negative self-image, empowering her new life as a single mom and widow, and building a stronger body from the inside out. Her mat became a sanctuary for her soul. Here she met with the Divine and had many talks of truth that her soul needed to hear. Here she met herself, and she just kept showing up on the mat. Seeing how empowering yoga was to her, she wanted to learn to help others heal the way she had. She pursued and received her 200 hour yoga certification through Moonbeam Yoga Teacher Training in Franklin, TN. She incorporates her Reiki certification, sound healing, personal journey, and life-coach training into each yoga class. Lisa’s classes often include thematic affirmative lessons, gentle yoga movement practices, guided meditations, and vibrational therapy. Do you have emotions and struggles you need to let go? Does stress weigh heavy on you? Is peace calling your name? Then come partner with Lisa on a gentle journey of mind, body, and spirit.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Cheryl is a Philadelphia native who moved here to Tennessee 18 years ago with her husband and young family. She worked in a stressful neonatal ICU environment for many years while raising her four children and needed to find an escape to her busy life. Stumbling upon yoga at the local recreational center, she soon found that it gave her the ability to just be. To deepen her practice she decided to complete her RYT200 Yoga at The Sanctuary for Yoga here in Nashville in 2012. She is also certified in Kids Yoga and trained in restorative yoga as well. Her love for movement liked to breath and music is an integral part of her class. She finds joy in sharing with her students the freedom yoga brings to the mind and body and encourages everyone to JUST BE.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Rachelle stepped into her very first yoga class in 2007 at a local gym and immediately fell in love. She loved the physical and challenging aspects of the practice; but, after years away, she revisited the mat, and yoga finally became part of her life in 2015. Rachelle learned there was so much more to yoga than how many "vinyasas" could fit into an hour. She enjoyed the introspect and deep personal growth that developed through the practice. In the spring of 2017, Rachelle decided to begin the journey for her 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher certification with Liberation Yoga in Nashville under the guidance of Raquel Bueno. She quickly began teaching donation classes in the Spring Hill area and hasn't looked back. Rachelle’s classes are easy going and allow the student to build strength and be organic in their movement.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Instructors - Memphis</image:title>
<image:caption>Hello, my name is Memphis! Self-study, meditation, and the physical asana practice have aided me greatly in regards to physical recovery, emotional healing, intellectual expansion, and spiritual growth. I have consumed all things philosophy, psychology, and comparative religious studies for the past fourteen years with a nigh-insatiable hunger. I have drank from the deep well of meditation for ten long years and yet my thirst is scarcely quenched. For five years my body, breath, and mind have journeyed through the evergreen forest of postures and seats discovering refined steadiness and purified ease. Long and arduous has been the path; each fork being filled with twists and turns. Guidestones have become overgrown with brambles and thorns and a threatening maelstrom looms in the distance. The eight limbs of classical yoga and the golden thread interlinking it with the many numerous mystery traditions handed down since ancient times have nourished my soul and inspired my heart. I am eternally grateful to be in a position to perpetually deepen my practice while sharing this dawnlike experience with others. I received my 200 hour yoga teacher certification from Shakti Yoga University in Nashville, Tennessee. I long to share this practice with beginners and masters, the young and old, the healthy and sick. Lo, let the flame not die out for in the dark of night a spark might catch to ignite a torch that may be carried to light the lanterns guiding the Way.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I teach yoga as a way to spread love and kindness in my community. As a mom to a child with special needs, I’ve learned to see the world from different perspectives. My teaching style is what I call “friendly flow.” I’m not here for fancy handstands or intimidating poses—I’d rather guide students through creative, nature-inspired imagery that makes meditation and movement feel accessible and enjoyable. Stress management tools and body-positive affirmations often weave into my classes, and my neurodivergent personality adds a little (or a lot of) quirkiness too! I began practicing yoga in the early 2010s, when long hours at a computer and a go-go-go mindset took a toll on my health. Through my 20s and 30s, yoga became an on-and-off companion, until I found a true yoga home at Lotus Rising. In 2025, I completed my 200-hour YTT certificate and was grateful to join the Lotus Rising teaching team. My hope is to offer an inclusive, adaptive, and lighthearted practice where every mind and body feels at home. Come just as you are, even if that means wearing work clothes and borrowing a mat at the studio. I look forward to seeing you there!</image:caption>

<image:caption>My passion for movement began at a young age. From my early childhood on into my twenties I was an avid gymnast. Many injuries later, a friend and colleague suggested that I begin a yoga practice. The mindfulness in correlation with the movement would bring about an awareness of bodily limitations, a method of finding the strength necessary to prevent further damage, and a pathway to healing from injuries passed. All of this happened quite soon. What I didn't expect to happen, and what has kept me coming back to the mat for years since, was the improvement of the quality of my mind and of my life. In my search to learn the full extent of these benefits and how to cultivate them, I went to India. I acquired my training in the city of Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga. Nestled along the Ganges river at the foothills of the Himalayas, the scenery only reflected the beauty that I came to know inside myself, the same infinite beauty that resides within each of us. As an RYT with Yoga Alliance, I aim to share the love and light I've found through my practice with the community of Spring Hill and the with world at large. Namaste.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Years ago as a very busy mom of 4 kids, 1 found myself craving yoga in all different forms, unaware of the reason why. Year after year I would find myself always returning to the mat, guilty of not doing high impact exercises... I craved yoga. I realized that I desperately needed to slow down and to feel connection with myself, and yoga allowed me slivers of that connection even when I was unaware of it happening. I have always been drawn to yoga and was in a crossroads of life when Lotus Rising offered their first YTT. I knew I had to jump on the opportunity to learn more! It was during that time I understood why I had gone back to the mat year after year. I rarely gave myself time and permission to calm, meditate, breathe, and connect to myself. I finally understood why I loved it so much; and I want to help others give themselves the permission to slow down, feel calm, be present, and connect to themselves.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Yoga has been a guiding light for me; a reminder of the strength, clarity, and peace within. I’m so excited to share this beautiful practice with you! After joining the corporate world and starting to see extrinsic success climbing the ladder, I assumed happiness and fulfillment would come along with it. Instead, I found myself living with an ‘I’ll be happy when…’ mentality that was only leading to anxiety, stress, and burnout. In 2015, I discovered yoga as a way to destress while building strength and flexibility. As my practice evolved, trivial problems were put into greater context and I was reunited with a deeper part of myself that always brought me back to love and truth. I was also seeing parallels between areas I studied years ago (cognitive science, philosophy, consciousness) and what I was experiencing in yoga. Curious and eager to put all the pieces together, in 2025, I completed my 200-hour teacher training with Lotus Rising. My wish is to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable exploring their own truth. I’ve found that some seasons of life require more strength and movement, while others require a subtle softness, or inward melting. Whatever the season or style of yoga, through presence, meditation, breathwork, and education, I invite everyone to rekindle a relationship with themselves, and learn the deepest most sacred parts of their soul. Looking forward to joining you on the journey!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi! My name is Penny Green. I’m a native of Columbia, Tennessee. I became a nurse and a wife in 1994, then a CRNA and a mother in 1998. For most of my professional and home life, I’ve been rushing, perfecting, achieving—chasing the American Dream. But sometimes life shifts overnight, and you suddenly realize that what mattered yesterday doesn’t matter in the same way today. One day, while sitting in a doctor’s office, I saw a photo of a 90-year-old woman resting easily and confidently in Scale Pose. That single image sparked my yoga journey. I took my first class soon after, and I was instantly hooked. I hadn’t realized how long I’d been holding my breath or how stiff I had become—I could barely sit on the ground. I knew then that yoga needed to become a priority in my life. Thankfully, I found Lotus Rising in 2021. Four years later, I’m completing my 200-hour teacher training and truly grateful for the path that brought me here. I’m deeply thankful to be a yoga teacher, and I hope to always be a student. Yoga has taught me to breathe, to slow down, to walk barefoot, and—most importantly—to embrace life and the people in it. I try to honor what my body needs each day: sometimes that looks like a steady vinyasa flow, other days it’s gentle movement or quiet meditation. What matters most to me is that yoga holds no rush and no demand for perfection—it’s simply an invitation to be present in my body. Right now, I’m especially passionate about teaching yoga to beginners, to older adults, and even to my grandson—he loves Down Dog. :) When I’m not practicing or teaching yoga, I work as a CRNA and spend time with my family.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Yoga first found me in 2021 during a season of change. I was looking for something fun to fill my time when I first walked into Lotus Rising Yoga, which quickly became more than a hobby. It became a practice that taught me to slow down, breathe fully, and reconnect with myself. Since then, yoga has become a steady presence in my life. While my practice hasn’t always been consistent, it has been enduring, supporting me physically and emotionally, helping me build strength, stability, and mobility. At the same time, breathwork became an essential tool for managing stress. Yoga reminded me that movement is a gift, one we often take for granted, and that stillness can be just as powerful. In 2025, I completed my 200-hour teacher training with Lotus Rising Yoga. The experience deepened my appreciation for yoga, not just as a movement practice, but as a mindset. This is one of the reasons I love yoga so deeply and feel honored to teach in the space where my journey began. My teaching focuses on grounding, mobility, and self-awareness, blending strength with softness and challenge with compassion. I aim to help students reconnect with their bodies and leave feeling more attuned with themselves.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi, I’m Jenna. I came to yoga during a season when I needed steadiness mentally and physically. I wasn’t chasing flexibility; I was looking for something to help me stay grounded. What I found was a practice that built strength from the inside out and taught me what it feels like to be in my body. Yoga became that and more, teaching me strength, presence, and self-trust from the inside out. I completed my 200-hour training at Heart of Wisdom, where I studied not only asana, but the history and philosophy of yoga. My background as a chiropractic assistant deepened my understanding of anatomy and alignment, so my teaching is rooted in both intention and practicality. I care about how things feel not just how they look. At Lotus Rising, I’m here to guide strong, breath-led flows that build resilience without performance. Expect classes that are intentional, grounded, and powerful. I cue in a way that invites you to listen to your body and move with autonomy. Yoga, to me, isn’t about the image. It’s about the experience you have in your body. Never a right or wrong…It’s about self-trust. It’s about learning how to stay in the breath, in the effort, in yourself. Come ready to move with purpose. I’ll meet you there.</image:caption>
